Student Guide to Accessibility Services

See more about requesting academic accommodations letters

Wesleyan University is committed to supporting students in their academic and co-curricular endeavors. The University offers all students a broad range of programs providing academic support and enrichment. These programs are an integral part of the Wesleyan community, built around a culture of intellectual growth and personal development. Students who have, or suspect they may have, a disability for which they would like to request reasonable accommodations, should contact Accessibility Services to ensure access at Wesleyan.

Students can contact Accessibility Services at any time, though we strongly encourage students to do so in their first semester. Even if you think you may not want to request accommodations for your disability, you are encouraged to make an appointment to discuss your options and resources. Whether you are a new student at Wesleyan University or a current student just now considering requesting accommodations, we would be happy to talk with you about the services we offer.

In addition, the office works within the Student Academic Resources office, to provide supports beyond accommodations. These supports, which include a focus on the development of metacognitive learning strategies and time management and organizational skills, are available to all Wesleyan students.

Contact our office to set up a time to discuss your request for support services. Accessibility Services is ready to help you have the best possible experience at Wesleyan University, but it is incumbent upon the student to initiate the process.
