YEAR FIVE: Step Into Your Solid GOLD Status

Class of 2020, we encourage you to use your fifth year as alums to feel confident in your alumni status! If there are facets of engagement that you haven’t had a chance to explore yet, do so! It’s a Milestone Reunion year for you, and a big moment in your alumni journey as you move into your Solid GOLD years as an alum.

    Serve on your Milestone Reunion Committee

    As we hope you’ll plan to return to campus this May for your first reunion cycle, consider joining some of your classmates in helping to make it extra special. As a Milestone Reunion year, you’ll have the opportunity to influence WESeminar content and weekend programming for your class in a heightened way that you won’t see again until your 25th Reunion!

    Walk the Talk

    You’ve spent the last 4 years establishing your career and educating yourself on the many ways you can stay involved with Wesleyan as an alum – and now it’s time to back all of that up with action! Keep attending events, keep engaging in alumni groups, and talk to other alums who are a year or two behind you on their journey to Solid GOLD status.

    Attend Your First Reunion + Commencement Weekend

    Join us May 23-25 to celebrate the classes ending in 5’s and 0’s! You can even stay in dorms on campus, if you choose. You’ll enjoy class dinners and receptions, WESeminars where you’ll hear from alums of all generations, pre-reunion gatherings and so much more!

    Make Your Fifth (or first!) Gift

    This year, consider making a Leadership Gift in honor of your Milestone Reunion! At 5 years post-graduation, a Leadership Gift is considered any gift equal to or above $250. This will also grant you access to the 1831 Society for the next year!

    Vote for Alumni-Elected Trustees

    Every year, Wesleyan’s Alumni Association elects three new members to the Board of Trustees to serve a three-year term. You had the opportunity to vote this past spring – let's make it an annual habit. These trustees help to influence the overall direction of alma mater.

    Attend a GOLD Party

    Each year, we hold simultaneous GOLD parties in our major markets—usually on the first Thursday of April. This year our Graduates of the Last Decade will gather on Thursday, April 3, 2025, for parties in Boston, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. This event is not to be missed!
