Green Room Certification Program

Wesleyan's Green Room Certification Program is designed to recognize, support, and promote students who engage in environmentally sustainable practices in their own rooms. All dorm rooms, apartments, program houses, and woodframes are eligible to become Green Room Certified. Take the survey!

Please direct any questions to Nat Sweet.

More Information

  • Why join the program?

The Green Room Certification Program provides the following benefits:

    • Recognition: Your room or house will receive a Green Room Certificate that you can display on your door.  You will also be recognized on the Wesleyan Sustainability Office's website.
    • Support: The Sustainability Office will help you through the process of greening your dorm or house, offering tips and help for you to achieve your goals.
    • Stewardship: Your efforts help to reduce resource consumption and build a sustainable campus culture.
  • How to join the program?

Fill out the Green Room Certification Survey, which assesses how sustainable your current living practices are while providing tips to "green" your space.

If you live in a shared space, consider encouraging your roommates and housemates to participate as well, or even participate together on behalf of your entire house.

  • Get Recognized

After filling out the survey, the Sustainability Office will review your responses and award you with a certificate. Place this certificate on your door to show how sustainable you are.

If you received a bronze or silver level award, consider assessing what else in your room or daily living habits you can make more sustainable, and fill out the survey again to reach gold level.
