Closing Information
Spring Closing
As students begin making summer plans, we ask that they remember all residential units (including program houses) must be vacated and keys turned in by Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 1 p.m. Only graduating seniors and students who have been pre-approved by the Office of Residential Life can remain in their rooms after Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 1 p.m., unless assigned to a temporary residence.
Students who have not been pre-approved are not permitted in University Residences, including apartments and wood frame houses. To be considered checked out, all items must be removed from the residence and keys must be returned to Residential Life before 1 p.m. Unapproved students will be asked to leave campus, will be charged with a Failure to Comply and face judicial sanctions (1 or more points), and may be fined.
Students who are using moving companies to complete their move out are expected to schedule the retrieval of belongings prior to the closing deadline at a time when they will be present to provide access to their Spring housing assignment.
Commencement Week
Graduating seniors must vacate their residence and turn in their keys to Residential Life by Monday, May 27, 2024 at 4 p.m.
Graduating seniors not currently on campus should submit a ticket to ResLife requesting housing no later than Monday, April 22, 2024.
*Students working on research who are not living on-campus for the summer or students that have decided to live off-campus for the summer are not eligible for housing during Commencement week, nor will they be eligible for University transition housing at the beginning or end of the summer.
To be considered for a housing extension, please submit a ticket to ResLife. Please note that submitting a ticket does not guarantee you will be approved for an extension. Only extenuating circumstances will be considered, and students will be notified via email. Housing extensions will not be granted for academic reasons nor for reasons of convenience.
Storage
