New Hire Orientation
On your first day, you will meet with a member of the Human Resources staff as part of your orientation to the University. You will also fill out the necessary payroll and tax documents needed for employment.

WesPortal
As a new Wesleyan employee you will have access to WesPortal. The WesPortal login can be found in the TOOLS drop down within the top black bar of the Wesleyan homepage. WesPortal allows you to verify and revise your personal data, enter your paid time off reporting and in some cases your hourly time sheets, access parking sticker requests, key requests, University financial systems, the online directory and more. Supervisors can also find many resources to help effectively oversee their staff. Please log in to WesPortal and familiarize yourself with it as soon as possible. If you have questions on using or accessing WesPortal, please follow these instructions to direct them appropriately..
Email accounts, telephone system information, desktop support and postal services
Information Technology Services (ITS) administers Wes Tel (Administrative telephone system), Wes Station (our mail services center) as well as Computer accounts and Email. If you need assistance with your computer and related equipment, please contact desktop support. Training opportunities are available through periodic classroom instruction, tutorials as well as online course offerings through the University’s partnership with Lynda.com.
Cultural opportunities
As an employee you have access to the many personally and professionally enriching experiences that working at Wesleyan offers. Whether it’s the galleries, performances, events and exhibitions at the Center for the Arts , the Wesleyan Film Series, course offerings and degree programs through Graduate Liberal Studies, Athletic facilities and adult fitness , our libraries, or the many readings, lectures and presentations sponsored by our academic centers and departments just to name some, we invite you to take advantage of these wonderful opportunities . Important resources and policies
Certain policies affect all Employees and are necessary for the efficient operation of the University. All staff members are periodically asked to read and acknowledge these policies through the Portfolio. As a new employee, it’s particularly important to read and understand these polices at the outset of your work at Wesleyan. Some important and frequently referenced policies include the staff handbook, ITS policies including computer usage policies, General Counsel policies, and Finance policies including cell phone allowance, purchasing card and travel reimbursement policies.
Staff identification cards are issued by the Wes Card office. You should plan on visiting Wes Card to obtain your staff id as close to your first day as possible. Your staff id controls access to certain University buildings including the Freeman Athletic Center.
The Office of Public Safety helps maintain a safe environment for all community members at Wesleyan. If you have a question, concern or would like more information about personal safety or crime prevention on campus, please contact their office.
