The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for supporting the work of the faculty, whose teaching, advising, and scholarship brings the academic program to life. As chief academic officer, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs oversees: the University curriculum and new curricular initiatives; faculty hiring and promotion; support for faculty research and teaching; and the administration of all academic departments and programs, the library, and offices within the division of Academic Affairs. The Provost is a core participant in the University's budget development and strategic planning.
