Web Publishing
Web publishing allows faculty and students to not only share their scholarship and teaching with a publicly accessible web presence and raise awareness of important issues and topics, but also work on developing the new media literacies that are essential to a 21st-century liberal arts education. Examples of web publishing projects, including new support guides, project ideas and examples, resources and more, are available on the Web Projects website.
The two most popular options for faculty looking to publish content to the web for a class or project are:
-
WordPress. WordPress allows faculty and students to easily create professional looking websites where course writing extends beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
-
Omeka. Omeka is a free, flexible, and open source web-publishing platform for the display of library, museum, archives, and scholarly collections and exhibitions.
However, there are other platforms that we support. If you're interested in finding out more about web publishing options, please create a support ticket in Service Now and a member of our team will contact you shortly.
