Data analysis is where theory meets practice. It is a process of organizing, summarizing, visualizing, and modeling data to extract meaning and actionable information. Wesleyan's data analysis minor develops a background in statistical methods and statistical computing by combining appropriate theory courses with extensive hands-on work and project-based learning opportunities that extend beyond classroom walls and meetings.
What You'll Study
- The data analysis minor requires the completion of five courses which span applications in different disciplines that are supported by the appropriate mathematical, statistical, and computing foundations.
- In addition to basic background knowledge courses, as a data analysis minor you can choose from a list of foundation courses—two courses from the mathematical, statistical, and computing foundation groups, each from a different group—and from a long list of applied electives that accommodate diverse intellectual interests.
