On Main Street, On the Airwaves

  • In May 2017, the Wesleyan RJ Julia Bookstore and grown organic café opened at 413 Main Street. A thriving business and cultural center in downtown Middletown, the bookstore hosts more than 200 events annually, featuring many well-known authors, and a weekly children’s story time event. The store houses approximately 18,000 books, with a special section highlighting authors from the Wesleyan community, and also sells a wide range of both Wesleyan-themed and general apparel and merchandise.
  • WESU 88.1 FM is a noncommercial, college/community radio station featuring music and talk programming by Wesleyan students and community volunteers. Started in Clark Hall by a Wesleyan sophomore in 1939, it has grown substantially in reach and participation.
