Arts

  • Wesleyan’s Center for the Arts hosts over 300 music, dance, theater, and visual arts events annually that are open to the public, with over 80 percent having free admission.
  • Every summer, Wesleyan partners with the Mayoral Youth Cabinet and the City to present Films on Foss, a free, public outdoor film series on Foss Hill, complete with games and food trucks.
  • Wesleyan’s College of Film and the Moving Image hosts a weekly Summer Film Series every July that is free and open to the public.
  • Wesleyan’s campus is home to three galleries—the Ezra and Cecile Zilkha Gallery, the Davison Art Center, and the College of East Asian Studies Gallery at Mansfield Freeman Center—which are all free and open to the public. Exhibitions are typically on display during Wesleyan academic semesters.
  • The Ezra and Cecile Zilkha Gallery hosts the Middletown Public Schools Art Exhibition for grades K-12 each March. The public schools also bring their classes on field trips to the Zilkha Gallery to view exhibitions.
  • The CFA also hosts Wesleyan Youth Gamelan classes each fall and spring, hosts the Center for Creative Youth each summer, and the Wesleyan University Orchestra’s annual Children’s Concert and Instrument Petting Zoo each spring.
