Welcome to the Wasch Center

Founded in 2004, the Susan B. and William K. Wasch Center for Retired Faculty provides a physical and virtual space in which retirees can remain engaged with teaching, scholarship, and other intellectual and social activities. Its offices and services are designed to support the vitality and well-being of retired faculty members and preserve their connection to the University.

The Wasch Center offers occasional programs helpful to faculty members approaching retirement. The lecture series and non-credit Wasch Seminars welcome members of the Wesleyan and nearby communities. Students can enroll in credit-bearing tutorials taught by retired faculty members.

Following the death in 2021 of the Center’s co-founder, William K. Wasch, the Center’s signature programs have been renamed to honor the vision that moved him and his wife, Susan, to make the Wasch Center possible. The enthusiasm and kindness with which Bill and Susie watched over and participated in the Center’s activities will be greatly missed, but their spirit lives on in the institution they created.
