How do ethical considerations enter into Wesleyan's investment decisions?
A resolution passed by the Board of Trustees in 2015, with input from the Wesleyan Committee for Investor Responsibility, states that “in selecting external managers or considering direct investments,” the Investment Committee should “consider environmental, social and governance factors as part of their investment process.”
As a result of the resolution, the investments staff incorporates an ESG section in every investment memo to the Investment Committee highlighting potential Environmental, Social and Governance issues associated with the proposed partnership.
