Immunizations and other Injections

Appointment Required - Phone 860-685-2470

Incoming students are required to have proof of immunity to mumps, measles, rubella, varicella and be immunized against meningitis.  Students traveling abroad should schedule a Travel Consultation to determine which vaccines may be required for a particular country/region.

TB Testing, HPV, and Tetnus (Tdap) vaccines are routinely provided at the Health Center.  Flu vaccine is available annually, typically in late October.  We can help coordinate other vaccines as needed.

Travel consultations for foreign travel are available. Please schedule your travel consultation at least two (2) months before your departure to allow sufficient time for immunization series.

OUTSIDE MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION POLICY:

If you have a medication prescribed by an outside provider and require the Health Center to help administer or teach you how to self inject your medication:

  1. Your healthcare provider must fax (860-685-2471) or email (healthforms@wesleyan.edu) your medication prescription to the Davison Health Center: 860-685-2471.
  2. After we receive your prescription, we will schedule a consultation appointment with one of our medical providers to review your prescription, medication instructions and create a plan of care.  You will need to review and sign an Administration Consent form at your consultation.
  3. We can not store medications in the health center for extended periods of time, so please make arrangements for drug storage in your residence.
  4. The Health Center is not able to manage Allergy Immunotherapy.  Please have your home allergist coordinate care with a local community provider for your care.
