Sri Rajhesh Vaidhya, a highly accomplished veena (plucked string instrument) player and composer from Tamil Nadu, India, has performed on stages around the world, including Europe, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Mauritius, Canada, and the United States. Apart from his blistering speed, he is the he winner of the 2010 Kalaimamani Award. His veena playing is distinguished by his use of electric or amplified strings.  He composed the music for K. Balachander's television series Sahana, collaborated with Playing for Change on the album Songs Around The World (2008), and was the music director for the movie Vegam by S.Ve.Shekher, starring Ashwin Shekher. At Wesleyan, Rajhesh Vaidhya will be joined by N. Mohanaraman and R. SriGanesh on mridangam, D. Chandrajit on tabla, and Saihari on gatam.
