Rosalind Frances Looby
Rosalind Looby is teaching a class on Alternative Investments in the Wesleyan economics department. This course aligns with Looby's research interests in hedge funds (where she spent the majority of her investment career), private equity, and venture capital, along with the massive growth of private investment vehicles and their impact on the capital markets and the economy. Looby is currently working on a book on this subject.
Rosalind Looby is Visiting Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at Wesleyan. Looby is returning to teaching following a twenty-year career in the investment business as a hedge fund portfolio manager (most recently at Millennium Mgmt.), and as a sell-side equity research analyst at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley. Looby has taught graduate and undergraduate finance at the Dolan School of Business at Fairfield University as an assistant professor of the practice and more recently taught in the economics department at Connecticut College. Looby holds a BA from Vassar College in political science and an MBA from New York University, Stern School of Business in finance and accounting.
