Giorgia Pagliuca

Giorgia Pagliuca is a PhD candidate at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo and the University of Turin, specializing in Oral History. Her interdisciplinary research explores critical animal studies, with a particular focus on advocacy, relational ecology, and alternative epistemologies of human-animal relations.

Giorgia employs oral history and interviews as key methodologies to investigate complex themes, including animal ventriloquism, the politics of care, and the socio-ecological implications of zoonotic diseases, such as African Swine Fever. Her work critically engages with ecofeminist perspectives, emphasizing how food choices intersect with sustainability, ethics, and resistance to oppressive systems.

Beyond her academic endeavors, Giorgia has participated in international conferences, presented research on the One Health strategy, and actively contributes to scholarly discussions on the intersection of environmental studies, history, and feminist theory.
