Certificate Programs:

Molecular Biology and Biochemistry participates in two certificate programs: Informatics and Modeling and Molecular Biophysics.  These programs offer MBB majors the opportunity to explore the interdisciplinary nature of these emerging disciplines through course selection and independent research.

Students interested in understanding how the current –omic revolution is impacting research are encouraged to pursue the Integrative Genomics Sciences pathway of the IMS certificate which combines the areas of bioinformatics, genomics, computational biology and bioethics.  The study of Molecular Biophysics gives students the opportunity to understand the function of biological macromolecules through quantitative studies of structure, energetics and mechanism.  Both programs highlight interdisciplinary work interfacing the life sciences with physical, chemical and information sciences.
