The Earth Explicated

Cameron Hu • Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow, Wesleyan University

April 14th @ 6pm • Daniel Family Commons

The prevailing form of life is committed to knowing ever more of the world and also to destroying it. How should we understand the connection of these commitments in the historical present? Cameron Hu develops this question by thinking through the operations of fossil fuel extraction in the Permian Basin of West Texas, the largest fracking zone on Earth.
