Osprey hunting for fish
Ospreys are large raptors that hunt for fish, and this video shows them in action. At one point, you can see an Osprey dive completely underwater and fly back up with a large fish, using its powerful wings (most other raptors can catch fish only at the water’s surface). Underwater, Osprey close their third eyelid – called a nictitating membrane – which works like goggles to help them see clearly. When Osprey carry their prey, they always position the fish’s head forward so it is streamlined, or easy to carry through the water.
