Minneapolis Guitar Quartet
Concert on February 18 to include arrangements of works by Piazzolla, Debussy, Purcell, and Rodrigo
 
Middletown, Conn., February 9, 2011—  The 36th annual Crowell Concert Series at Wesleyan University’s Center for Arts concludes with a performance by the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 8pm in Crowell Concert Hall,  located at 50 Wyllys Avenue on the Wesleyan University campus in Middletown. The ensemble, featuring Joseph Hagedorn, Ben Gateño, Wade Oden, and Steven Newbrough, will perform original arrangements of works by composers including Ástor Piazzolla, Claude Debussy, Henry Purcell, and Joaquín Rodrigo (see full program below).  A pre-concert talk by Wesleyan University private lessons teacher Carver Blanchard will start at 7:15pm. About the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet
With the passion, style, and musical sophistication borrowing from the best chamber music and string quartet traditions, the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet has successfully made its case as one of the world's leading guitar ensembles since its founding in 1986.
