Episode Two of "NetBlipz," the new WESU Middletown 88.1FM series that puts a spotlight on the remarkable skills and imagination of the Wesleyan Music Department, will feature recordings by members of the Wesleyan University Jazz Ensemble, hosted by Director Noah Baerman. This program will also be available to stream from WESU's show archives for two weeks after the broadcast.

Featuring Mason Johnson '23 on tenor saxophone, Luke Morrill '23 on guitar, Joe McKidd '22 on guitar, Jacob Zilversmit '22 on vibraphone, Nicholas Serrambana (an undergraduate student at Yale) on double bass, and Bram Silbert '23 on drums.

Performances will include "Roadlife" by James Williams, "The Judge" by Jessica Williams, "Hope Street" by Tom Harrell, "Ghosts" by Albert Ayler, "Land of the Lonely" by McCoy Tyner, and "Basic Birks" by Jimmy Heath. The program is dedicated to the memories of all the jazz giants we’ve lost in 2020, including Jimmy Heath and McCoy Tyner.

The Wesleyan Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble were scheduled to perform a concert on April 17, 2020 at the start of the 19th annual Wesleyan Jazz Orchestra Weekend, but that event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
