Bring your own lunch and join the conversation as Assistant Professor of Theater Katie Pearl hosts a discussion with Tom Pearson about immersive theater and community-engaged performance work, particularly as it might exist within the pandemic and post-pandemic world.
Pearson is co-creator of the long-running immersive theater hit Then She Fell, co-artistic director of Third Rail Projects, one of the world’s foremost companies creating site-specific, immersive, and experiential performance, and director of the Global Performance Studio, Third Rail’s international program for cultural listening and exchange. Pearson’s recent work includes Ikaros, commissioned for La Jolla Playhouse’s 2019 World Without Walls Festival, and Libraria, an ongoing iterative work of poetry, art installation, and performance. Pearson was a Creative Campus Fellow at Wesleyan during the 2018–2019 academic year, when students in his Winter Session course devised and performed the immersive work This Between Shadow.
