Mourning at the Peripheries of Europe: Jacobean Laments and a Requiem Mass by Duarte Lobo
Wesleyan's Collegium Musicum, under the direction of Associate Professor of Music Jane Alden, performs a concert that explores musical laments from Europe’s peripheries—powerful works composed in England and Portugal during the early 17th century— featuring music by Duarte Lôbo (c. 1564–1646), Thomas Tomkins (1572–1656), Thomas Weelkes (1576–1623), and Manuel Cardoso (c. 1566–1650).
