A reception from 4:30pm to 6pm for artists impacted by 2017 hurricanes, including Sarah Welch and James Beard from Houston, Texas (whose Reading Room installation is on display in the Olin Memorial Library Lobby through Sunday, April 8, 2018); and Arnaldo Rodríguez Bagué from San Juan, Puerto Rico (whose artist talk and film screening will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018); and the Open House of Environmental Artists’ Books in Special Collections & Archives.
Since 2014, students in E&ES 197 "Introduction to Environmental Studies" have had the option of creating an artist book for their final project. Each semester, a selection of the most creative and interesting projects have been donated to Special Collections & Archives. A selection of artist books will be on display, along with a few of the works that inspired them. There will be remarks at 5:30pm in the Davison Rare Book Room in Olin Memorial Library (located on the east side of the first floor.)
