Graduate Recital: Warren Enstrom

The Russell House, 350 High Street, Middletown
FREE!
A graduate music recital by Warren Enstrom, remnant // residue is an eight-channel generative audio installation that uses the architecture and furniture of each room in The Russell House to reflect and distribute sound. These reflections are enhanced by careful speaker placement intended to project sound into the house from nondescript places. Emanating throughout the house, modified by furniture and walls, the sounds carry information about the spaces from which they came, as well as the space they currently inhabit. Such information allows the audience to sense a crowd, the size of the room, the presence of windows, doors, wooden floors, painted walls, and many other characteristics of the space. remnant // residue explores how this information travels, and how aspects of the travelling sound carry along the spatial information inherent within it. The event will be an open house from 1pm to 7pm, so feel free to come and go as you please.
