Muslim Women's Voices at Wesleyan
During the 2014-2015 academic year, Muslim Women’s Voices at Wesleyan will expand awareness, knowledge, and understanding of Muslim cultures through the lens of performance. Join us as we explore the work of extraordinary artists from around the globe: each one bringing a distinct set of personal experiences and embedded in a particular place, society, and cultural tradition. Through this journey, we invite audiences to celebrate the complexity of Muslim women today, and the historical and cultural context from which they have emerged.
Muslim Women’s Voices at Wesleyan is part of the Creative Campus Initiative of the Center for the Arts, and is made possible in part by a grant from the Association of Performing Arts Presenters: Building Bridges: Campus Community Engagement Grants Program, a component of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art.
