WesFest FAQ's
- Should I attend all WesFest days or just one day?
Each day of WesFest includes similar programming (panels, tours, open classes etc...), but there are also quite a few one-of-a-kind events throughout the 3 days. You are welcome to attend for multiple days if your schedule permits.
- Can students stay on campus overnight?
Students desiring an overnight stay with acquaintances must coordinate independently. The Office of Admission does not facilitate overnight visits, except through the WesFest Funded Travel Program.
- What lodging accommodations are in the area?
If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay while visiting Wesleyan and exploring all Connecticut has to offer, there are a handful of hotels located within 15 minutes of Wesleyan. The Inn at Middletown is within walking distance and offers a Wesleyan rate. Please consult the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce website for a comprehensive list of area lodging.
- What is the WesFest Funded Travel Program?
The WesFest Funded Travel Program offers fully funded travel for the admitted student and a limited stipend for one guardian to attend WesFest 2024. Eligible individuals will receive notification via email by late March 2024.
- What time does WesFest start/end?
Check-in begins at 8:30 am each morning, with the welcome address promptly at 9am. Programming continues into the evening and visitors are encouraged to stay as long as they wish.
- Are there programs for parents or is it just for students?
WesFest features programming tailored for both students and parents/guardians throughout the day.
- Is there transportation available to and from campus during WesFest?
Transportation options vary depending on individual preferences. While some attendees may opt for personal vehicles or rideshare services, others may utilize public transportation. We recommend planning transportation in advance to ensure a smooth experience.
- Are meals provided during WesFest?
Refreshments will be available upon arrival and Wesleyan will provide students and their families a ticket to eat in Usdan Marketplace, our central dining hall, for lunch. There are additional dining options available on and around campus for attendees to explore.
- Can I bring guests who haven't been admitted to Wesleyan to WesFest events?
WesFest events are primarily designed for admitted students and their families.
- Is financial aid information available during WesFest?
Absolutely! Representatives from the Office of Financial Aid are available during WesFest to provide information and answer questions regarding financial aid packages. Don't hesitate to seek assistance if you have financial aid inquiries.
- Can I bring my pet to WesFest events?
We kindly request that attendees refrain from bringing pets to WesFest events, apart from registered service animals. This policy ensures the comfort and safety of all participants during the festivities.
- Are there accommodations for individuals with disabilities during WesFest?
Wesleyan University is committed to providing needed accommodations for all WesFest attendees. If you require specific accommodation, please contact Jordan Kessel in the Office of Admission in advance.
- What if I can't visit for any of WesFest dates?
Not to worry! We offer abundant virtual programming throughout April, including student and parent/guardian-oriented panels and talks. Additionally, in-person and virtual tours, along with information sessions, continue throughout the Spring. If you're an admitted student visiting campus, please inform the front desk upon arrival to pick up a small gift!
