Explore the New Wesleyan.edu

Wesleyan.edu has a new look and feel as the University launched a complete reimagining of its digital presence to better serve its primary web audience: prospective students and their families. Beyond a redesign, the new core website not only delivers the information users need but also reflects the vibrant spirit of Wesleyan.

“Wesleyan is known for doing things differently—and doing them with purpose. When we set out to re-engineer Wesleyan.edu, we didn’t just want a website that looked better,” said President Michael S. Roth ’78. “We wanted a digital experience that better reflects who we are, how we teach and learn, and how we connect with the world.”

Through extensive research and direct feedback from students, faculty, staff, and prospective families, University Communications—in partnership with Digital Wave—identified ways to make Wesleyan.edu more intuitive, accessible, and engaging. New features include:

  • Program finder: Easily browse and filter Wesleyan’s majors, minors, certificates, and graduate programs to find the perfect fit.
  • Integrated storytelling: Now, storytelling is at the heart of the website, with Wesleyan University Magazine and news stories integrated throughout.
  • “Information For”: Prospective students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and other key audiences have dedicated areas of the site that provide clear pathways tailored to each audience, helping them find the most relevant information faster.
  • A new event system: An upgraded event platform makes it easier to explore and keep track of what’s happening on campus, from lectures and performances to sports and admission events.

“I am excited to share the newly re-engineered core of Wesleyan.edu, which includes a reimagined events calendar,” said Renell Wynn, vice president for University Communications. “Both reflect our commitment to providing a modern, accessible, and user-friendly experience for all our community members. This new site marks a significant step forward in how we present Wesleyan University to the world.”With intuitive navigation, bold visuals, and a mobile-first design, the new site makes it easier than ever to explore Wesleyan’s distinctive academic and cocurricular offerings. A standout feature of the site is the new “Why Wesleyan” section, which gives visitors a clear, compelling look at what sets the University apart—from its interdisciplinary approach and vibrant campus life to its deep commitment to impact beyond the classroom.

“Wesleyan has never been content with the status quo. This re-engineered site helps us communicate that vision—boldness, rigor, and practical idealism—to the world. Thanks to a more flexible site architecture, we can now continuously learn from our audiences and make ongoing improvements to enhance their experience,” said Roth.

The launch of the core website marks the first phase of the University’s web re-engineering project, which will continue with a second phase that includes re-engineering the remaining academic and administrative department websites.
