Government Documents Collection
As a Federal Depository, Wesleyan University Library receives many publications issued by agencies of the U.S. Government. These publications include books, maps, posters, pamphlets, and periodicals. They contain information on statistical data, government operations, foreign relations, education, science and technology, and many other subjects.
Wesleyan University Library's Government Documents collection contains publications from the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the United States government, in paper, microfiche, and online. Our collection emphasizes the social sciences, and is strongest in Congressional publications, statistics, and government policy.
We were designated a Depository library by a Connecticut Senator in 1906. We receive many publications offered in pre-selected categories by the Government Printing Office (GPO), and are required by Federal law to make them available to the general public as well as to our regular users.
