SAGES (Sustainability Advisory Group for Environmental Stewardship)

The Sustainability Advisory Group for Environmental Stewardship (SAGES) is a collaborative group of staff, faculty, and students dedicated to environmental sustainability.  SAGES’ mission is to develop recommendations to Cabinet and the entire University community regarding policies and practices that promote social, cultural, and fiscal stewardship of the world we share.

Since 2007, SAGES has brought people together to discuss and take action on sustainability issues, ideas, and projects.  SAGES developed Wesleyan’s first Climate Action Plan in 2009 and first Sustainability Action Plan in 2016.  SAGES includes several subcommittees: Green Building, Purchasing, Waste, and Transportation, which develop sustainability projects and programs that reduce Wesleyan's carbon footprint.

SAGES welcomes new members and visitors.  To join or find out about the SAGES meeting schedule, contact Jen Kleindienst.  Please browse SAGES' archived meeting minutes to learn more about its work.
