Meet Father Bill Wallace, O.S.A.
Father Bill Wallace, O.S.A. is an Augustinian priest, attorney, and former college professor and campus minister with graduate degrees in Theology, Psychology, Religious Education, and Law. Growing up in the Bronx, NY, Father Bill wanted to be a priest, a lawyer, and the centerfielder for the New York Yankees! “I accomplished two out of three,” he says, but “I am still trying to catch up to that 95 mph fastball! I haven’t given up yet!”
In the course of his professional career Father Bill has served at Merrimack College and Villanova University and many parishes throughout the Northeast. He has also worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office and as a Special Assistant Attorney General in the New York State Attorney General’s Office. He is a big fan of all sports, especially baseball and basketball.
Father Bill takes his inspiration from his close family, especially his sister, Mary; niece, Alexandra; and little dog, “Mia;” and from the Order of St. Augustine, the religious order based on the charism and influence of the great St. Augustine, a 4th–5th century bishop and doctor of the Church.
“It is an honor and privilege to serve here at Wesleyan University and to share with you some of the spirituality of Augustine – student, teacher, sinner, saint – a “restless heart” just like us! I look forward to seeing you on the field, court, or ice; in the classroom, cafeteria, or chapel; and anywhere else where friends come together.”
“You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”
