Cisco AnyConnect VPN Installation for Windows
Download the Cisco AnyConnect VPN installer from Wesfiles here.
This will pop-up a login screen to wesfiles.wesleyan.edu. Login to start the download automatically. When the download is complete, double click the file to install the software.
You may be presented (on Windows Vista and Windows 7) with a User Account Control prompt as in the following image; again click the “Yes” button to continue.
Once installed, run the software from the Start Menu on Windows 7 or run Search for Cisco AnyConnect on Windows 8.
The following window will pop up:
Enter webvpn.wesleyan.edu in the connection window and click Connect.
You will be promted for your Wesleyan username and password.
Once connected, a window will indicate you have sucessfully connected to the Wesleyan VPN network.
Enable Local LAN Access
In order to continue to print to any network printers or have access to a local network while you are connected via VPN, you need to enable local LAN access. This is only needs to be set one time and it will stay enabled for future connections.
In the bottom-right-hand corner of your computer screen, click on the globe and padlock icon to bring up the Cisco AnyConnect window. If a globe and padlock icon does not appear, you may have to click the small, upward-facing arrow in the lower right-corner of the screen before the icon appears.
In the small window which appears, click “Advanced…” link. In the window which pops up, click the tab labeled “Preferences” and ensure that the “Enable local LAN access (if configured)” item is checked. You may then close the window.
