Reminder:
View your
financial aid record through the "My Financial" tab of
your E-Portfolio. You may also wish to provide guest access to
your any person who will be assisting you with your application.
Wesleyan is committed to meeting the full demonstrated need of all
financial aid applicants and will continue this commitment through
these challenging economic times. It is important for
applicants to recognize the importance of the deadline.
Returning students whose application materials have not been

be subject to a $1000 scholarship penalty. The penalty will increase

replaced with available loan funding. A penalty will not be

2. Submit
the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
www.fafsa.ed.gov. Renewal and
new applications should be submitted on-line by April 24th to ensure
meeting the May 15th deadline.
Pre-application
worksheets may be downloaded beforehand to assist with completion
of the on-line form.
Families are encouraged to complete the application using parent
and student federally assigned PIN numbers. If you have forgotten
your PIN number or wish to request one

FAFSA Reject - Correction Required:
If you have submitted your FAFSA, received your SAR (Student
Aid Report) and must make corrections (ex. lack of parent and student
signatures) please

here for further instructions.
The US Department of Education randomly selects files for a process

that you have been selected for verification complete the
appropriate worksheet. Not sure? Check SIMON:
Dependent Student Worksheet - For students who report parent
information on the FAFSA.

required to report parent information on the FAFSA.
3.
Submit the ProfileTM
Form of the College Scholarship Service available on-line at
www.collegeboard.com.
Applications should be submitted on-line by April 24th to
ensure meeting the May 15th deadline.
In lieu of the Profile explanation
box, applicants are encouraged to submit dollar-specific details
relative to any special circumstances that affect their ability to
contribute to a Wesleyan education directly to Wesleyan.
Students applying only for Federal
Stafford Loans are not required to complete the ProfileTM
. Tax documents should be submitted directly to IDOC (see step 4
for IDOC instructions).
Students
whose parents live abroad should complete the
International
Student Financial Aid Application instead.
4. Submit
signed
copies of the student's and parents' 2008 federal tax return and W2
forms to IDOC after receiving the instructional email from IDOC. Beginning
early March, submit to the College Board's
Imaging & Documentation (IDOC) Service, NOT Wesleyan, with the
IDOC Cover Sheet. Read the instructions carefully in order to avoid delays
and late penalties. The College Board will collect, scan and forward
your documents to Wesleyan via a secured website. Returning
students applying for aid for the first time will not have access to
an IDOC Cover Sheet. In this situation, please
email the office for further instructions.
If there
is a filing extension, submit the extension form to the financial
aid office by May 15th. Eligibility for aid can not be determined until the tax return is
submitted to Wesleyan.
If parents operate a business or farm, submit a copy of the most recent partnership or corporate
tax return to IDOC.
In an effort to reduce the number of items a student needs to
provide, noncustodial parent information does not need to be
submitted annually. The noncustodial parent has the option of
requesting a formal review of his or her current information.
Unless we are otherwise advised by you or your noncustodial parent,
Wesleyan will use last years application as a basis for determining
the 2009-10 noncustodial contribution.
After
reviewing application materials, the Office of Financial Aid may
determine that additional information is needed. The office will
contact the applicant to request any additional documentation.
International Students:
Only international students who were
admitted to Wesleyan with financial aid should complete an
application. There is no assistance for returning international
students who did not previously receive aid.
Do not
submit the FAFSA or ProfileTM.
The International Student
Financial Aid Application (.pdf) of the College Scholarship
Service is required along with verification of income with English
translation.
