Job Title: Muslim Community Program Coordinator

Qualifications/Description: • Engage in integration efforts throughout the year including new student orientation, major Muslim holidays, and other initiatives. • Convene regular meetings with those interested in being leaders in the community. • Conduct research related to Muslim communities on small liberal arts campuses. • Meet with the Imam regularly to exchange ideas regarding the current and future state of the Muslim community at Wesleyan. • Update website and Facebook Page, Twitter, and YouTube regularly. Use the student listserve to notify the community of upcoming events and opportunities. • Meeting with the Muslim Chaplain and Chaplaincy Assistant once a week and carrying out action items on a timely basis. • Respond to emails promptly regarding the community. • Document use of all work hours. • Represent the Muslim community at student fairs and other campus events. • Recruit others to help with projects and events. • Attend MSA meetings and send minutes to the Muslim Chaplain. • Recording audio, video, and photos for events and uploading them to the various social media and video channels. • Help coordinate special services and programs. • Other functions as necessary to promote the Muslim community. Qualifications: • Demonstrated understanding of the needs of the diverse communities that form the Muslim community and the larger Wesleyan community. • Previous work or other experience germane to the position. • Demonstrated ability to interact gracefully, sensitively, and professionally with other students, student groups, administrators, et al. • Demonstrated experience and expertise in graphic design. • Demonstrated experience and expertise in social media. • Demonstrated experience and expertise in multimedia. • Previous experience working with the Muslim community helpful, but not necessary. • Good academic and judicial standing. • Position is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors. • All gender identities welcome to apply.
