||Compensation: $3,000 a year per fellow
In addition to offering quality arts education, Green Street Arts Center is also an excellent venue to train future arts administrators and educators. Green Street’s Arts Administration Fellowship is designed to engage students interested in the areas of non-profit organization, arts management, development, and fundraising. Through this opportunity, students can expect to acquire skills necessary to be effective in the non-profit arts arenas on both macro and micro levels.
Fellowships run from September 2010 – May 2011, and can be renewable. Where possible, fellows are expected to be on campus one week prior to the start of the semester and may be expected to work when university classes are not in session. Students should expect to work flexible hours; specific schedules will be negotiated with the supervisors.
This fellow will work with the Development Assistant under the direction of Green Street’s Managing Director. General duties include:
* handling correspondence;
* researching donors;
* helping with grant research;
* grant and report writing;
* assisting with data-base management;
* helping organize and implement special events;
* participating in meetings and workshops as appropriate;
* working on other related duties as assigned.
Students should expect to take on leadership opportunities as requested. Attendance at orientations, weekly meetings, and yearly conferences is mandatory.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Sophomore or older with attention to detail, excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. Must demonstrate ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies and be familiar with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Publisher.
