With a Lot of Help from Our Friends: 50 Years of Acquisitions Funded by the Friends of the Davison Art Center

Rembrandt van Rijn (Dutch, 1606–1669), Sheet of Studies (with head of the artist), 1632, second state, etching. Friends of the Davison Art Center funds, 1967.42.1 (photo: R. Lancefield).

Since the founding of the Friends of the Davison Art Center in 1962, the group has raised funds to purchase more than 900 works of art, dramatically expanding the Davison Art Center collection. This exhibition celebrated the FDAC's 50th anniversary with a selection of more than 70 prints and photographs by artists including Rembrandt, Manet, Heckel, Johns, Watkins, Stieglitz, and many more. All of the works on view were purchased through the generosity of, and fundraising by, members of the FDAC.
