"Spirit of the Metropolis": Berenice Abbott's New York

This exhibition presented selected photographs from Abbott's "Changing New York" project, which documented the city's architecture in the 1930s and juxtaposed the disappearing vernacular with nascent modernism. Curated by Brett C. Stilwell (B.A. 1997), the exhibition incorporated the artist's own statements about the images on view.
