INVISIBLE MEN INTERNSHIP GRANTS

Background
During the mid-2000s, a student group called the Black & Latino Brotherhood arose as an informal association focused on creating an annual showcase for the WESfest/Student of Color Weekend. With the positive reception of these efforts, the brothers came to recognize the need for an ongoing presence in student activity by men of color, and in 2010 began to create the new organization, Invisible Men. The aims of the group are to provide support for one another, to pursue personal growth, to create greater unity among people of color, and to enhance the success of multicultural community.

This year the group focused on a fundraising campaign to provide funding to support two internship grants with a distinctive mentoring component. The members of Invisible Men intend in this way to honor the mission of their organization and also to give back to the Wesleyan community that has supported their growth and education.
