New York Space Grant (NYSG) Consortium
The New York Space Grant (NYSG) Consortium supports undergraduate
research opportunities in space-related fields with various programs.
Each year, undergraduates have the opportunity to participate in
research during the summer and/or throughout the year in on-going
projects sponsored by NASA. Summer internships are offered at Cornell
and NYSG institutions including Barnard College, Clarkson University,
Colgate University, Columbia University, Syracuse University, and
others. Also lists other non-consortium opportunities.
Department of
Energy Scholars Program
The DOE Scholars Program introduces students or recent college graduates
to DOE’s mission and operations. As a participant in the DOE Scholars
Program, you will have a competitive edge for familiarizing yourself
with DOE functions while showcasing your education, talent, and skills.
Space
Telescope Science Institute, John Hopkins
The Space Astronomy Summer Program is open to students from the US and
other countries, at all levels of undergraduate and graduate study, but
with preference to junior and seniors.
California Institute of
Technology Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships
Caltech's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships program introduces
students to research under the guidance of seasoned research mentors at
Caltech and JPL. Students experience the process of research as a
creative intellectual activity. Open to non-Caltech students. Stipend.
Carnegie Institution
of Washington Intern Program
Summer internship program is to provide eligible undergraduate students
with a participatory introduction to scientific research.
Center for Adaptive
Optcs Internship Programs
The CfAO Research Internship Program offers community college students
and undergraduates from four-year universities an opportunity to get
involved in CfAO research. Most opportunities in California, but some
elsewhere. Some internships reserved for Hawaii residents.
German Academic Exchange Service Research Internships in Science and Engineering Program (RISE)RISE is a summer internship program for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering. It offers unique opportunities for undergraduate students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of 1.5 to 3 months during the summer. RISE interns are matched with doctoral students whom they assist and who serve as their mentors. The working language will be English. All scholarship holders receive stipends from the DAAD to help cover living expenses, while partner universities and research institutes provide housing assistance.
Other astronomy opportunities may be on the CRC’s Physics Internships, Part-Time & Summer Jobs page. Also check with the Astronomy department.
