Eight Placewinners Lead the Way for Cards During Opening Indoor Event, the Wesleyan Invitational
A first-place finish in the 1000m event by Stephanie O'Brien '08 highlighted the Cardinals' efforts during the opening indoor meet of the season, the Wesleyan Invitational Sat., Dec. 1. Her time of 3:10.21 was 2.3 seconds ahead of the runner-up in the field of 10 competitors. Kiran Sheffrin '10 (photo) captured third place in the 55m hurdles with a time .21 seconds faster (:09.45) than her performance in the same event a year ago. She also helped Wesleyan's 4x200m squad take sixth, joined by Tameir Holder '09, who also placed fifth in the 55m dash. Wesleyan had the fourth- and sixth-place runners in the 400m in the persons of Lynn Edmonds '11 and Hannah Overton '11, respectively. Both of them were in the 4x400m relay that placed fifth. Wesleyan will be back in meet mode following the holidays when the team travels to Yale for its invitational Sat., Jan. 12.
