Cards Extend Winning Streak This Spring to Six Behind a 6-3 Victory over Colby for NESCAC Win


Falling behind 2-1 after completing the three doubles matches, Wesleyan went on to clinch its sixth win of the spring by capturing the top four singles matches vs. Colby Sun., March 29, going on for a 6-3 NESCAC win.

Anika Fischer '10 (right side of photo) was dominant at #1 singles and doubles, taking a 6-1, 6-1 victory and combining with #3 Sarah Miller '12 (left side of photo) for an 8-4 triumph in doubles. Miller, who has yet to lose in either singles or doubles this spring, secured a comfortable 6-2, 6-2 win. Ania Preneta '09 also won 6-2, 6-2 at #2 and Rachael Ghorbani '09 put the finishing touches on the win with a three-set conquest at #4. Also winning for Wesleyan was #6 Meredith Holmes.

The Cardinals will look to move to 7-0 for the spring when Conn. College comes to town for a NESCAC match Thurs., April 2.
