On the evening of October 24, 2013, five Wesleyan alumni with careers in education came back to campus to speak to current student-athletes as part of the A+ Program. The alumni talked about their experiences at Wesleyan and how those experiences have helped them in their careers. From left, Regan Schubel LaFontaine '01 (women's ice hockey and crew), Edie Aloe Traina '99 (field hockey and women's lacrosse), Ian Neviaser '95 (football), Alessandro Angelini '00 (men's soccer), and John Green '81 (men's basketball). John Biddiscombe, Athletic Director Emeritus, moderated the panel.
The Office of Alumni and Parent Relations, Athletics and the Career Center collaborate to bring alumni leaders, athletic alumni, current parents and friends of Wesleyan to campus to work with students. Each year, 3-5 high-profile alumni and parent experts visit campus for 1-2 day residencies and make formal presentations about career networking, job searches, critical career decision-making skills, and other aspects of successful career-building in which personal fulfillment and professional development are interdependent goals. These pathfinders and innovators also participate in one-on-one and small group mentoring conversations.
