Wesleyan used a 13-0 run over a four-minute span to erase a 64-54 deficit and grab a 67-64 lead with 4:03 to play, but Amherst closed out the game with a 12-4 streak to capture a 76-71 decision. Against Fitchburg St., Wesleyan jumped out to a 14-4 lead but the Falcons scored six points to narrow the gap to 14-10 with 12:10 to go in the period. Wesleyan then scored the next 11 points and finished the stanza with a 35-17 run to assume a commanding 49-27 lead at intermission. Sprung had 11 points at the break while Nikki Maletta '08 (#13, main photo) added 10 and had two of the team's five three-pointers as Wesleyan was 5-for-7 from behind the arc. The lead peaked at 26 points in the second period (64-38) and never fell below 18 as the Cardinals coasted in for the win.
