Wesleyan is on the brink of its third consecutive trip to the NESCAC tournament as the Cardinals need just one win during the double-header at Hamilton Sat., April 25 to secure a playoff spot. Should Wesleyan sweep the double-header and Amherst do no better than split its twin-bill at Williams, the Cardinals would repeat as NESCAC West champions.
After spotting Wesleyan the early lead with a shot over the centerfield fence, Dendy logged her second shutout of the year as she walked none and struck out five with just the four hits allowed. Wesleyan did add an insurance run in the 3rd inning when Sam Epstein '12 was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, courtesy of another hit batter, a walk and a single by Alexis Kral '12. Overall, Wesleyan was relatively quiet at the plate with five hits but it was enough for the victory behind Dendy's tremendous pitching.
