LaDarius Drew '15 (photo) went into the NESCAC championships at Colby Sat., April 26 as the top seed in the 200m dash, and lived up to the billing by conquering the field with his winning time of :22.38, victorious by a margin of .09 seconds.  In addition, he captured the long jump title with a leap of 21-10, just one inch ahead of the second-place finisher.  With his second-place effort in the 100m dash, timed in :11.06, one-tenth of a second out of first place, Drew was responsible for 28 of the Cardinals' 42 team points as Wesleyan took seventh place among the 11 competing squads.  Drew already holds the Wesleyan school records in both the 100m and 200m, both done during the 2012 NESCAC meet when he finished second in both events.  For his tremendous performance in the NESCSAC meet, Drew was honored by the conference coaches as Most Outstanding Male Performer, receiving the Sabasteanski Award.

Accounting for 10 of the Cardinals' remaining 14 points was Agbon Edomwonyi '16, as he placed fourth in both the shot put (48-0 3/4) and hammer throw (153-0).  The final four points came from Taylor Titcomb '16 with a sixth-place time in the 5k (15:00.25) and Erik Hall '17 in the javelin with his eight-place throw of 152-3.

Wesleyan was back in action Thurs.-Sat., May 1-3 in the New England Division III Championships hosted by Springfield.  There Drew was the lone Cardinal competitor and he made it count by placing second in the 200m (:21.99) and fourth in the 100m (:11.14) to give Wesleyan 13 team points and a tie for 20th of 32 scoring teams.  Wesleyan was represented in the New England Open meet at Westfield St. Thurs.-Sat., May 8-10 by two competitors as Agbon Edomwonyi '16 took 15th in the shot put and Taylor Titcomb '16 placed 16th in the 5k.  As a result, the Cardinals did not score in the meet.

The final regular-season action took place at RPI Thurs.-Fri., May 15-16 during the ECAC Division III Championships.  There Drew competed in both the 100m and 200m, finishing 19th in the latter as his top performance (:22.48).  Wesleyan did not score.
