Taylor Titcomb '16 (right in photo) paced a contingent of six Cardinals to the finish line during the opening event of the 2013 season, the Wesleyan Invitational Thurs., Sept. 19. All six Wesleyan runners hit the tape ahead of the 10 Mitchell runners and two runners from Western Connecticut. As a result, Wesleyan took the team crown with 15 points to 45 by Mitchell. Ahead for the squad was a trip to Lehigh for the Paul Short Run Sat., Oct. 5.
Titcomb covered the four-mile course in a time of 21:48.7. Next for Wesleyan was Keith Conway '16 (left in photo, 21:57.2), followed by Reid Hawkins '17 (middle in photo, 22:02.2). Completing Wesleyan's scoring five was Eric Arsenault '17 (22:31.5) and Will Dudek '17 (22:36.0).
At Lehigh, Hawkins was the first Cardinal to the finish line, placing 48th of 372 entrants, covering the 8k course in 26:27. He was 14th among Division III competitors. Conway (97th, 27:02) was next for Wesleyan, followed by Arsenault (159th, 27:37), Paul Brauchle '17 (220th, 28:22) and Dudek (288th, 29:44).
Wesleyan hosted the annual Little Three meet Sat., Oct. 19, won by Williams with a score of 25, followed by Amherst (37) and Wesleyan (67). Titcomb placed eighth to lead Wesleyan to the tape, with Hawkins taking 10th and Conway finishing 13th as the top three Cardinals. Rounding out the scoring five were Evan Bieder '15 (22nd) and Arsenault (27th).
Ahead is a trip to the New London area for the annual NESCAC Championship, hosted by Conn College Sat, Nov. 2.
