
With five teams competing during the Wesleyan Invitational II indoor track meet Sat., Jan. 14, Sierra Livious '14 (all three photos) won each of the four events she entered including a near-record performance in the shot put, an events she won by more than 11 feet over her nearest rival. He toss of 39-7 3/4 was just nine inches shy of the Wesleyan indoor record set in 2006 by Kristy Williams. In addition to the shot put, Livious took the long jump (15-6), the 60m hurdles (:09.59) and the 600m race (1:57.40).
Joining Livious as an event winner were Olivia Grant '14 in the 60m dash (::08.19), Idara Foster '15 in the 200m dash (:27.92), Julia Frieze '12 in the 400m race (1:01.95) and Alissa Goldberg '14 in the weight throw (28011 1/4). The 4x400m relay squad of Frieze, Lia Monti '13, Ambrosia Smith '15 and Orelia Jonathan '15 grabbed first as well (4:20.24).
Wesleyan will serve as host for the next team activity, the Wesleyan Invitational III Sat., Jan. 21 which will feature competitors from about 20 regional colleges.
