In the annual Little Three meet, this year hosted by Williams Sat., April 17, Wesleyan picked up 83 team points, finishing behind host Williams (183) and Amherst (115).
Wesleyan had seven top-three individual finishes led by the first-place effort of Jamie Lawrence '12 (photo) in the 3000-meter steeple chase. His time was 9:50.83, good enough to qualify for the upcoming New England Division III meet and a solid 24 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher from Williams.
The Cardinals received second-place points from Matt Katz '11 in the 1500m race as well as Skyler Cummins '13 in the 5k and Mike Moody '10 in the javelin. Third-place performances came from Moody in the hammer, Bryan Marsh '13 in the 5k and Immanuel Lokwei '12 in the 400m.
Wesleyan also had a second-place finish in the 4x100m relay featuring Andre Lima '13, Lokwei, Jadeene Gabay '10 and Jack Pacelle '13.
The Cardinals will be put to the test next in the annual NESCAC Championships coming up Sat., April 24 at Tufts.
