Wesleyan was one of 13 colleges participating in the Trinity Invitational Sat., March 28. Collecting 16 top-eight postings, Wesleyan was led by the first-place finish of Jonah Blumstein '09 (photo) in the 5000m race. He captured the event in a time of 15:17.16. His margin of victory was 6.17 seconds in a field of 26 runners.
Wesleyan got runner-up finishes from Chris Coleman '10 in the 800m (1:57.22) and Charles Lang '11 in the 5k (15:23.33). Two Cardinals placed in a pair of events each. Tommie Lark '11 grabbed sixth in the 100-meter dash and fifth in the 200m. Alex Iwamoto '12 was right behind Lark in the 100m, placing seventh, and also snagged sixth in the triple jump.
Wesleyan will get a chance to compete in front of the home crowd for the first time April 11 as host for the Elmer Swanson Invitational. Before that, however, the squad will visit Coast Guard for its invitational Sat., April 4.
