HIGHLIGHTS - Diver J.P. Valette gave Wesleyan its highest-ever score in the
one-meter dive while securing the initial diving title for a Cardinal with a
456.65 score. Right behind in second with a 444.95 was Gianfranco Galluzzo.
Both received all-NESCAC honors for their performance. Galluzzo led the squad in the three-meter event by finishing fourth while
Valette was fifth. In swimming events, Brendan Fortin was the team's
standout as he finished sixth in the 400 IM after setting a school record with
an NCAA "B" cut in the prelims of 4:08.31. He also finished ninth in the
200 fly with a time in the consolation finals (1:54.99) that would have made him
fourth in the championship finals and had an 11th-place showing in the 500 free.
Momo Saleh had two strong swims in the distance free, placing sixth in the 1000
free and ninth in the 1650. Sprint free specialist Dan Storms came in
sixth in the 200 free as the fifth Cardinal with a top-eight performance.
